TIP #1: STAY ACTIVE
The best advice I can give you during pregnancy is to stay active, even if it's nothing but walking. I made the mistake of eating nothing but my cravings and while there's no harm in that, I didn't follow said cruddy food with any type of exercise. I lost 15 pounds in the first 3 months of my pregnancy with Blakely, and then in the last trimester I almost gained too much weight. I lost a lot of weight while breastfeeding, but gained almost all of the weight back once we switched her to formula (that was a trip in and of itself, but that's a post for a different time)
TIP #2: WATER WATER WATER
Another huge mistake I made, and not because soda is bad for you and the baby and all that, but drinking as much as I did I made myself sick most of the time from the carbonation building up. And don't even get me started on the headaches. When you're pregnant you can't take hardly any medications for any type of pain or issue. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I switched from soda to juice and bottled water and that's a thing I'm pretty heavy on when I get the chance to, but soda overrules my household. I just feel better when I drink something that's not carbonated and syrupy. If you can't convince yourself to drink water, eat some water loaded foods like cucumbers.
TIP #3: STOCK UP ON SNACKS
From the first time morning sickness hit me like a train, to the and night before I had Blakely, I kept some type of snack next to me at all times, whether in my purse, backpack, or next to my bed. It was mainly because of how severe my morning sickness was, but I also woke up several times during the night so it was convenient when I woke up to have something next to me to eat. I mostly ate healthy things like fruits or saltine crackers, but then every once in a while I'd have a honey bun or something to satisfy the sweet cravings. Just trust me, it's worth it in the long run.
TIP #4: STAY COOL
For me personally, my morning sickness was dramatically worse when I was having a hot flash (One of the many joys of pregnancy), so stay as cool as you can. I usually kept the ceiling fan on, and i kept socks on my feet so I wouldn't get sick, but I would have my feet out from under the covers. They make usb fans that'll plug into your phone, I HIGHLY suggest one because it works for a quick cool down.
TIP #5: COMFORT KNOWS BEST
Wear loose clothes. During the summer wear dresses as often as possible, or the thin flow shirts with maternity shorts. By the 5th month of my pregnancy, regular juniors jeans just weren't making the cut. But I found maternity shorts, and they are the most comfortable bottoms I've worn to this day. They fit me so much better than normal jeans (even still). Don't worry so much about your appearance and making sure you're put together, because it's really not worth it. You should only be dressed up for your baby shower(s) and the maternity pictures, at least that's my opinion. Dress in what's comfortable for you, don't worry about impressing anyone. The only one you need to think about is your significant other and they obviously think you're attractive enough.
