Being a Stay-at-Home Mom

Take advantage of every second you have with your little one. Even being a homemaker, I'm completely oblivious to how fast Blakely's growing. I mean, it feels like we brought her home from Athens Regional a week or so ago, not almost 7 months.

People underestimate exactly how time consuming being a stay at home mom is. We constantly get joked around with and told we don't have a real job, and while our job doesn't bring home a paycheck, it gives us so much more satisfaction, at least it does for me.

At first, I thought being a homemaker was the easiest job in the world; I joked with my mom my whole life about how easy she had it. I never thought about the constant cleaning, waking up at every noise in the night, running errands almost nonstop because your house and family are always needing something, or even how tedious finding doctors for our family would be. Don't even get me started on finances. Budgeting money has been one of the hardest tasks I've ever had to do. Changing diapers? Got it. Waking up every 3-4 hours? I'm your girl. But budgeting every single penny we have has caused metaphorical white hairs. And on top of everything else, I'm currently in college, which is a huge stress load in and of itself.

To the working moms, I tried to work and I admire you and everything you do for your child(ren). You're so much stronger than people give you credit for, and you're not a bad mom for working. You should be beyond proud of yourself for sacrificing spending every moment with your child to provide for them so they never need or want for anything. You take in every second you can, relish in it. Know your little one will always love you and not hold you having a job against you because they know it's for them.

Moms unite to support each other, the homemakers and the working, we all deserve it because everyone disses the labor load we balance. Cheers to you and everything you've accomplished
